Lion Green Road has been shortlisted for the 2026 RIBA Stirling Prize.
Rather than treating landscape as what remains after development, Lion Green Road places it at the heart of the project. Five pavilion buildings are arranged within a generous park-like setting, preserving mature trees and creating a neighbourhood where gardens, play, biodiversity and shared open space shape everyday life.
That idea extends into every home. A pinwheel plan gives every apartment a dual aspect, filling interiors with natural light, opening long views and creating a continual connection to the surrounding landscape through generous corner loggias.
Originally designed by Mary Duggan Architects, RUFFARCHITECTS led the project's technical development and delivery.
We're honoured that Lion Green Road has been recognised by the Stirling Prize jury.
Thank you to Brick x Brick, the London Borough of Croydon, Mary Duggan Architects, Planit, CField Construction and the wider consultant team whose collaboration, expertise and commitment made Lion Green Road possible.
Congratulations to all of this year's shortlisted teams.
