  • Project: Long Meadow Farm

Delighted to share that our retrofit and extension of a rural Devon farmstead has received planning approval. This project is rooted in a fabric-first approach - retaining and celebrating as much of the existing structure as possible, while sensitively adapting the form to enhance spatial quality with vaulted ceilings and new timber and Devonian stone clad elements that sit gently within the landscape. Passive design strategies have informed every move: orientation and natural terraces work in harmony to optimise solar gain, while deep reveals and carefully placed shading balance light and thermal comfort. In support of Mental Health Awareness Week last week, the team wore it green to work for an afternoon of Kinstugi - the japanese art form of mending broken objects. • Team: WIA Mentoring

Over the last few months, our Part I Rishita has been taking part in the Women in Architecture mentoring programme. It’s been fantastic to hear about her experiences, building connections with peers in the industry and gaining valuable insights from her mentor along the way. We love seeing emerging designers grab opportunities like this, giving them space to learn and grow. We can’t wait to hear more about her journey as the programme wraps up this summer. Back to News

  • Project: Beresford Street

There’s no better way to spend the morning than on the construction site. We always value the opportunity to be on the ground, collaborating with the builders who bring our designs to life. Last week’s visit to Beresford gave us a close-up look as the brick façade begins to take shape. Every visit sharpens our understanding, strengthens the design process, and reminds us how essential hands-on collaboration with contractors is. Back to News

  • Project: Buckinghamshire New University

Our latest student accommodation project over in High Wycombe honours the site’s industrial heritage as we strive to balance function with context. The design team has been exploring how this can be achieved through the exterior character whilst also maintaining the highest quality of space internally for its residents. We can’t wait to see how the design develops going forward! Back to News

  • Project: Beresford Street

A lot of great progress over on the Beresford Street Ph1 site for one our latest student accommodation projects! It's been fantastic to see the phasing of construction, and relating these to the design packages we are producing. Brickwork setting out has commenced on ground floor, with the carefully co-ordinated chamfered window reveals starting to take shape with slab penetrations being constructed on the 6th floor. The team is excited to go back next week and share updates as this complex building continues to advance! Back to News
